Before my husband and I retired to Florida, we lived in a condo in St. Louis with a very small area for a garden. Since our move, we have shown little restraint in our plantings. Some plants make it and some don’t. This year, I decided to create a garden journal where we could keep better track of our flowers and ornamental plants. The Tiny Tabs mini album from Basically Bare is the perfect choice. At 3×5 inches and with 14 inserts, I was not only able to make a garden journal but also to let my creative side go wild.
One of my favorite parts of this little treasure is the acrylic inserts. I stamped with Stayz on Ink, making sure that what I stamped looked good when the insert was flipped.
I used Art Anthology’s Dimensional Crystal in Amethyst (painted on) for the cover after I coated it with the gesso also by AA. The ribbon on the front was dyed with 2 parts water to 1 part Dimensional Crystal as well. I used the Sorbet Dimensional Paint in Dazzle to highlight the wings of the butterflies through out the journal. There are pockets for seed package labels and plant tags and plenty of room for notes.
I am looking forward to keeping the garden this year and using my Garden Journal. Thanks for looking at Part I.
