What a doll! Paper Doll that is…

IMG_4633As a child I spent most of my summers at my grandmother’s house in Iowa.  She would save her issues of McCall’s magazines for me.  In the back of each there was a paper doll and a few clothes for her.  The Betsy McCall paper dolls are no longer in the magazine but I wanted my granddaughter to have the fun I did with these.  The Krafty Keepsakes mini album was the perfect way to give my granddaughter a taste of the the fun I had as a child.

I used Google to locate free Betsy McCalls downloads and printed these onto textured card stock.   The mini album was perfect with its 4 #10 envelopes to divide the album into seasons.   To get my Granddaughter started, I cut out the first of each season’s doll and clothes. The dolls and their accessories fit perfectly into the envelopes.   My granddaughter will  get full uncut sheets when she is old enough to play with scissors.

Jenni Bolin and Echo Park had lovely papers to preserve the vintage feel of the paper dolls.  This is one of the birthday gifts I am giving my granddaughter.  Sure hope she likes it.

Products:  Basically Bare’s Krafty Keepsakes mini album; Jenni Bolin papers and embellishments and Echo Park papers.

I really like this idea and you’re right. The Krafty Keepsakes mini was perfect for it! I bet your granddaughter will love it. It’s such a sentimental and unique way to share a little of your childhood with her.
