Shapely Summer Fun

Hello again! Today I have a Simply Shapely album to share with you and I hope you love it!

I started with this fun album and chose a kit that I had to go along with it. The kit is pretty eclectic (kind matches an album full of pages in different styles) and I think it is a lot of fun with the different colors and papers. The pages in the album really do a lot to show off the papers and embellishments while still looking amazing on their own.

Okie dokie, let’s look at some pages!

I loved using a pretty modern paper on the cover and mixing it with some elements that were a little more vintage/traditional. I can never seem to resist a big ol’ fun flower.

I tried to use a different mix of embellishments on each page. I had a few different types to use, from a pack of button-style embellishments to some enamel drops to a mix of paper and printed acrylic/vellum. I tried to mix them up together and include some sparkle when I could.

I attached items to the felt page with a mixture of edge-to-edge adhesive and adhesive dots.

I added in some washi tape from my stash for a little something extra on a few pages. I like to try to keep things pretty flat inside the pages so that it will lay nicely. Plus sometimes those thick embellishments tear up photos.

More edge-to-edge adhesive here. I have room for plenty of photos in this album, even with the embellishments.

I kept the acrylic page pretty simple in this one. I may decide to add some more to it once the pictures are in. but I thought I’d keep my options open.

Ah, this page. That dang gold and acrylic embellishment gave me nothing but troubles in pictures. Please forgive me :)

That is it! As far as actually putting the album together, I attached paper to pages with a mix of liquid and glue sticks, then trimmed with scissors or a craft knife. I sanded the edges to get a clean look. I was back and forth with the embellishments. I did the pages where the paper was crying out for some attention first and then went back and added the rest.

I had fun with this mini (but I do enjoy making a mini album). There have been some great projects shared here on the blog lately, so be sure to look around if you haven’t for a while. Also, be sure to stop by the Basically Bare Facebook page and the Basically Bare store.

Have a wonderful weekend!
